Uses of Personal Information
Some of the ways JASRI may use the Personal Information such as name, e-mail/postal address, and phone/fax numbers include:
1. To ensure efficient use of facilities and services available at SPring-8,
2. To identify you when providing online services (online proposal application, online registration of publications, etc.), and
3. To provide SPring-8 information and other user-related announcements for individual users.
Disclosure of Personal Information
JASRI will not disclose the Personal Information to third parties without your consent unless otherwise required by law and necessary to comply with a court order or legal process.
Management of Personal Information
JASRI has its Internet system administrators in the User Administration Division in charge of the appropriate management of the Personal Information.
The User Information Website uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology to prevent the Personal Information from being read by an interested third party as it is being sent over the Internet: SSL does not prevent data being intercepted, rather it ensures that should it be intercepted it is unreadable by the third party. To make your communication environment SSL-compatible, please use an SSL-compatible browser and set up the browser to ensure that it is SSL-compatible. Due to characteristics of the Internet, JASRI cannot warrant or guarantee 100% security in data transmission; so you are advised to take every precaution to protect the Personal Information when you are on the Internet. For example, change passwords often, inform JASRI promptly of the possibility of unauthorized use of the Personal Information.
2) System Protection
JASRI’s systems are equipped with multiple checking systems and firewalls to prevent unauthorized access to the systems. In addition, JASRI limits its employees’ access to the Personal Information as an internal security measure.
