Updated on 5th June 2020

Considering the effects of COVID-19, the policy for Approved 2020A Proposals and 2020B Proposal Calls has been fixed as below:

1. The 2020A term will be extended to March 2021. Beamtimes allocated in 2020A which were postponed due to COVID-19 can be rescheduled to dates starting in October 2020.
2. There will be no proposal call for a 2020B term, but unallocated beamtime after October 2020 will be available for additional calls as part of the extended 2020A term.
3. 2020A beamtimes cannot be further postponed to the period after April 2021. Beamtimes which cannot be carried out before the end of March 2021 will be cancelled completely.

Beamtimes allocated at Contract Beamlines will not necessarily be re-scheduled. Please contact the relevant Contract Beamline Office for details.

The suspension period will be extended for a while even after 11th May, 2020. We, therefore, ask you to refrain your visit to SPring-8/SACLA.
(Updated on 5th June) Visitor restrictions will be removed stepwise as follow the link, “Resumption of User Operation at SPring-8”.

Even in the suspended period of user operations, COVID-19 related research will be conducted promptly.
